Love Story

Rachael and Dean are high school sweethearts! Dean asked Rachael’s twin sister if she could show him where Rachael was… dean eventually found Rachael!  Not thinking anything of it, a few weeks later they met at a school rodeo.  Well that was it for Dean, he wouldn’t let Rachael out of sight! The very next weekend, Dean asked Rachael to go and watch him at a touch football comp (as Dean was quite the sportsman!), Rachael went along… not knowing Dean was going to introduce her to his family!!! A few weeks later the rest was history as Dean asked Rachael to be his girlfriend at their local beach whilst on leave from boarding school. 6 years later at that exact location Dean asked Rachael to spend the rest of their lives together !

The Proposal – from Rachael

‘Dean took me out for the most beautiful dinner at a restaurant I had been wanting to go to for ages, right here in Yeppoon. Then he took me for ice-cream and a walk along the beach. We sat down at the exact spot he
asked me out 6 years ago in high school!  Dean started pointing to something, clearly to distract me as when I turned around he was down on one knee!
I was in complete shock…there were many happy tears!

Most memorable moment [wedding]

Our bridal party photos!! So many different locations, so much fun with our very nearest and dearest, Carissa made it so fun with her wonderful ideas!! But definitely our most memorable would be seeing each other at the end of the isle!! Soooo much build up to the day, always keeping in mind the day is about the two of us vowing to spend the rest of our lives with each other.. we spent the morning with our families, soaking it all in, enjoying getting ready for the big 3pm!! Then 3pm came around.. the excitement kicked in, as did the nerves.. the beautiful song ‘where ever you will go’ sung live as Rachael’s dad walked her down the isle following her 2 sisters.. the chorus of the song sung as Rachael reaches the top of the stairs to see Dean standing by the celebrant and his groomsmen a little teary, as was everyone else!! Then the walk commenced to begin our journey as husband & wife..

Kind Words

From the moment we saw Carissa’s photos we knew we wanted her.. to the point of changing our wedding date to make sure she could photograph us! She has now become more than a photographer to us, she is family and a lifetime friend.
